ILLUSTRATION for 'VIOLET' magazine

An illustration that was inspired by the character work I created for 'The Series of Unfortunate Events' .... for the now defunct magazine 'Violet'. I believe it was to accompany a feature article on the emotional after effects of abuse ... hence, the blue bird of happiness flying away. On this simple illustration, I used sharpies, colored markers, and a xerox machine. My rep Lisa Johnston really got me the best projects!

TWO COLLECTOR CARS FOR CARTOON NETWORK

CARTOON NETWORK CARDS - Two cards I had the pleasure of creating during my stint at Axiom design ... Augie Doggie and Huckleberry Hound ... two of many cards submitted by some fairly well known illustrators and designers ... I believe Gary Baseman submitted Yogi Bear!

TWO CHARACTER HEADS

IDOL and VEGETABLE - big pieces ... painted character heads cut from masonite and painted with acrylic paint - Axiom design bought the 'idol' (batman) head ... and Vegetable was purchased by a professor of graphic design at the University of Utah ...

FOR NORDSTROM HISPANIC AWARENESS - ETERNITY

ETERNIDAD - One of a series of paintings I submitted to Nordstrom for use in their Hispanic Awareness campaign in their western market - not used, but I like it nonetheless - my friend and artist's rep Lisa Johnston procured my great opportunity(s) with Nordstrom!

TRADEMARK BOOK - MGM

TRADEMARK - for Metro Goldwyn Mayer, one of several books in a set designed to launch a new line of licensed products for MGM .... loved creating this book, Brent Watts at Axiom design sent me to the photo archives at MGM to research the look and photos, had the pleasure of designing the logo/look for this particular aspect of the licensing campaign ... my good friend and at the time primary photographic contributor Michael Roberts took this photo as well as alot of others I have used in my work throughout my design career. Thanks Mike!

HOLIDAY GREETING CARD-for Design of Today

HOLIDAY GREETING CARD FOR A DESIGN FIRM - DESIGN OF TODAY .... concept is 'abundance' - most aptly represented, I think, by an overfed, over indulged consumer. Illustration is sharpie and color copier ... lot of detail, great fun to make!

HOLIDAY GREETING CARD-for firm 'Fritz & Andre'

HOLIDAY GREETINGS from all of us at FRITZ & ANDRE! ... greeting card to send to clients designed/illustrated for my friend and fellow designer Tony Loveless,owner/proprietor/designer of ad/design/marketing firm in Salt Lake City named 'Fritz and Andre' .... last year I designed two cards for his clients ... really like working with Tony because he trusts my aesthetic and pretty much gives me artistic carte blanche .... this one was created using black sharpie and color copier. The interior of the card reads, "unfortunately, Mandy will not appear on next year's card" ....
